At Timely, we're big fans of simplicity, which is why you can manage your subscription plan, update your payment details and view your payment history all in one place.💥
Head to your Settings from the left-hand navigation bar and click on Subscriptions.
You'll end up right here:
Here you'll find a full summary of all your subscription-related details, including the total price of your subscription based on the number of users you've added to your account.
💡 You can also manage your Tasks subscription on your Subscriptions page from the "Add-ons" section:
For those new to Tasks, you'll see the option to "Start trial" to begin a 14-day free trial of the Tasks add-on. You can deep dive into those features right away!
Your Tasks add-on subscription will be billed either yearly or monthly, depending on the selection of your main Timely subscription and you'll need a Tasks seat for each active user on the workspace.
Once your 14-day free trial has ended, your paid subscription will begin automatically and the payment method on file will be charged. We'll also send you a reminder when it's close to the end - just in case you've forgotten!
You can cancel your free trial at any time by clicking the "Remove" button in that same Add-on section:
How do I switch to another plan or billing cycle? ♻️
Select the Switch plans button at the top of the Subscriptions page.
This will bring you to a list of all the available Timely subscriptions:
Just select your billing cycle option at the top – Yearly or Monthly – and click the Choose plan button for your preferred plan. You'll see the total charge, based on the number of users currently on your account.
To confirm the change, click Agree and switch. You'll know the request was completed when you are automatically redirected to the main Subscriptions page.
🚨 If you are downgrading your plan, the switch will take place at the end of your current billing cycle. If upgrading, you'll receive pro-rated credit for your current billing cycle, which will apply automatically towards the new plan amount.
How can I change my credit card details? 💳
You can edit your credit card details in the Payment details section on the Subscriptions page.
Once you've updated your information and click Save. Your payments will now be processed on the new card.
Can I retry a failed payment? 🚫
Yes, you can! If your subscription has failed to renew due to issues with the card we have on file, you can update your payment information, then click the link to retry the payment for your subscription.
How do I add more seats? 👥
You'll see the number of unused seats available under the "Status" section. If you need to add users to your workspace and don't have any unused seats, you’ll need to purchase additional seats by clicking the "Add or remove seats" button and selecting the desired amount.
Choose the number of seats you need for your team then hit Save. Depending on your bank, you may be required to authorize the transaction before it's processed.
Note: Seats will not automatically be removed from your subscription when you delete a user from the People page. You can either add another user to fill that vacant seat or head to Settings > Subscriptions to remove the seat from your plan and receive a pro-rated credit for the paid time remaining on that seat, from when it was added to the end of your current billing period.🚨
I added my credit card details and selected my plan option while 'In Trial'. My trial has ended and I have not yet been charged. 💵
If your trial period has ended, your card will be charged within 24 hours. Don't worry, you'll still be able to track time with Timely during that period.
I need my Timely invoices to go to my Accounts Payable department. How can I change the billing email on our Timely account? 📒
Change the billing email on your Timely account from the Payment details section on the Subscriptions page.
Where can I add our billing address and VAT to the invoice? 🧾
The Extra invoice details section on Payment details allows you to include any additional information you would like included on your invoices.
What payment methods do you accept? 💰
We accept all major credit cards, including VISA, MasterCard, and American Express.
Can I pay yearly instead of monthly? 🗓️
Absolutely! When setting up payments inside of Timely, you'll be able to choose between monthly or yearly payments.

What happens to my subscription once I delete the original account admin? 🛑
You are not able to delete the owner of the account. If the person in your company who originally signed up with Timely is leaving, the account owner needs to go to Settings > Workspace Settings on their account to transfer account ownership.
